At SaunaBuilder, we design and build the highest-quality, handcrafted saunas, creating a space that slows time, brings presence and fosters meaningful connections with others.

We do this because the ritual of sauna bathing has had a profound impact on our lives and we want to share this gift with you. Come reconnect in the warmth of the sauna.

The inspiration for SaunaBuilder started on the shores of Longbow Lake in northwestern Ontario. The offgrid Robertson family cabin had a wood burning sauna located just steps away from the lake. The sauna was a gathering place for close family and friends and connected everyone in a daily routine of transitioning from the intense heat of the sauna to the cool waters of the lake. Round after round of hot to cold, memories were formed and a sauna enthusiast was born!
SaunaBuilder’s goal is to bring the lakeside hot/cold sauna experience to homes across North America. We now have an incredibly talented team of amazing people that work to design and build the highest quality authentic saunas and cold plunge tubs. Our building operation and showroom is proudly based out of Calgary, Alberta nestled against the rugged rocky mountains.

Andrew Robertson

A hammer was placed in Andrew’s hands as a toddler and it had a lasting impact! Carpentry has always been a mainstay in Andrew’s life, early in his 10 year career as a paramedic he started his own construction company and could never turn away from the exciting challenges of owning a business and working with his hands.

Andrew’s passion lies on the shores of Longbow Lake in northwestern Ontario. Come summertime there’s a draw like no other that pulls the entire Robertson family towards the family cabin, days are spent with family and friends saunaing, swimming, fishing and enjoying everything the lake life has to offer. Andrew is also an avid skier and loves his home resort of Lake Louise like no other.

Kyeongin Mun

Mun is a man of many talents! His ambitious drive and ability to push himself and inspire those around him lend a hint to his past career in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps. Mun immigrated from Korea years ago and quickly developed an amazing talent for woodwork. His boundless energy is infectious and he’s known for his vocal displays of enthusiasm and encouragement.

Come winter, Mun and his wife spend every moment of free time strapped into their bindings, shredding the powder stashes of the Canadian rockies. Their love of snowboarding is something to admire and pushes all of us to enjoy our beautiful rocky mountains!

Anthony

Anthony is a journeyman red seal carpenter that has been pursuing his passion of woodwork since he was 16. Anthony completed his apprenticeship on Vancouver Island specializing in custom renovations. He’s a perfectionist that embodies the definition of a master carpenter and holds himself to the highest standard of craftsmanship.

‘Big Tone’ as we affectionately call him met his Fiance Kaitlen on Vancouver Island and moved back to Calgary to surround himself with his family, friends and mountains. Tony and Kailten spend their weekends outdoors, leading an active lifestyle and enjoying all of what life has to offer.

Dave

Meet Dave Klepacki, our master craftsman renowned for his meticulous finish carpentry. Beyond his exceptional skills, Dave infuses our company culture with contagious enthusiasm.

Passionate about creating spaces for healthy living, Dave’s thoughtful approach extends to his community involvement. A nature enthusiast, he shares outdoor adventures with his partner of 22 years, fostering a love for the environment.

Dave’s commitment to conservation is evident through his leadership in local initiatives, earning him respect throughout the community. With a PhD in earth science, Dave brings a unique blend of expertise, passion, and skill to our team, driving our commitment to excellence.

We were not sure if we wanted to add a sauna in our brand new house. It is in our culture to use one as a place of gathering with family and friends, but I know that in Canada most saunas are just not hot enough. I looked up companies that build custom saunas in Calgary, and SaunaBuilder sounded like the only one that can meet our extremely high expectations of quality and expertise to build it the proper way without having issues down the road. I spoke to Andrew on the phone and confirmed that there is only one way to do it the right way, I just have to pick the size and type of control. Not having to decide or select from a million of options, gave me confidence that it will be just done the way it should be. I also lucked out to fit into Andrew’s schedule last minute due to a cancellation. I was not wrong. Andrew and Dave built my perfect 10 person sauna on time, on budget. The kids loved them because they let them carry scraps to the garage at the end of the day. They treated us like family and their work is a piece of art. Andrew even distributed the light and dark pieces of cedar artistically which makes the walls so beautiful. Andrew also built a custom bench for the adjacent change room that looks better then the original iconic designer bench. And I got him to build a matching shelf for the alcove. Everything Andrew did turned out better than I could imagine. I am impressed and would not let anyone I know build a sauna with any other company!
